IBM dishes up fab pix on local Olympic site

In the midst of the stories about computers in the chaos of Atlanta, it's worth noting that one IBM server hasn't missed a beat--IBM New Zealand's Olympic home page.

In the midst of the stories about computers in the chaos of Atlanta, it's worth noting that one IBM server hasn't missed a beat. IBM New Zealand's local Olympic home page has dished up 1Gb of data in the past five days, answering 150,000 user requests. Since the beginning of July the server has fielded requests from 38,000 unique domains spanning the globe.

One of the most popular elements of the site has been Keith Scott's daily helping of photographs. And, ever loose with the laminates, @IDG is giving you the skinny on getting access to Scott's "press gallery" pictures--mostly the same shots as those in the Images of Atlanta section, but larger and at higher resolution. In another part of the site, Jim Bolger has scored a raging success with his inaugural email fan message to the New Zealand team. More than 1500 Kiwis have since followed suit. Now, if only they could have stopped John Banks going to Atlanta ...
