ICT services and solutions company, Dimension Data, has won a contract to overhaul Crown Law Office’s desktop platform with 3D Workspace to enable the Crown Counsel to securely access corporate desktops on any device.
3D Workspace is an outsourced solution for Cloud and traditional computers users, built on local knowledge and skills to deliver a NZ-based desktop solution for organisations requiring modern virtual and traditional desktop provision and management.
Crown Law chief information officer (CIO), Hayley Carthy, said the company selected DiData as it needed to lighten its paper load, and wanted an effective strategy which would provide its Counsel with all the case information it required at any time.
“Our move to anew, open plan workspace was an opportune time to make this change, and DiData’s 3D Workspace offered an immediate, cost-effective solution to our requirements,” Carthy said.
“Our Counsel will now have the ability to securely access our corporate desktop from iPads, and will be able to work collaboratively and more effectively throughout the offices, as well as in the courtroom or client’s place of work.”
Carthy added that incidents like the recent earthquakes in Wellington highlight the importance of exploring mobility solutions as staff will need to work from outside the office environment.
Security was another reason for Crown Law’s commitment to DiData.
“Security is a real imperative for Crown law, and DiData’s track record with one.govt gave us the assurance and confidence it would meet our security needs and deliver 3D Workspace in a manner that is consistent with those ideals and goals,” Carthy said.
