CityLink expands datacentre capacity

The expansion covers the co-location facility at Lambton Quay and is intended to cater to Wellington businesses.

CityLink has announced that it is expanding data centre capacity and services for businesses located in Wellington’s central business district.

“Being able to quickly and easily store and retrieve data is important for all businesses,” said CityLink’s chief executive Nick Willis.

“As businesses in Wellington’s CBD grow, so does their demand for ‘always on’ data and systems. That is a major reason why CityLink has recently expanded its co-location capacity at Lambton House on Lambton Quay. The centre is in an earthquake-strengthened building with uninterrupted power and a constantly managed environment.

“Businesses that rely on their own computer servers are of particular interest to us. While businesses in the Wellington CBD are our primary focus for this new centre, CityLink’s network allows access from anywhere in New Zealand via any telecommunications provider.

Willis added that the new centre is no first to CityLink, which has experience in co-location and connectivity solutions in its centres in Auckland and Wellington.
