MYOB plans product launches in 2014

Besides rebranding and additions to its main suite, MYOB will also be launching mobile options and integration

At its roadshow in Auckland today, business software provider MYOB announced products that it will be launching into the market in 2014. This is in keeping with the re-branding of the suite as MYOB BankLink, MYOB Essentials and MYOB AccountRight, come April this year.

The MYOB Essentials range, which was touted as an evolution of the current LiveAccounts, will launch in early April. Essentials will include Cashbook, an online solution available exclusively through MYOB partners, and Accounting, a more advanced browser-based accounting solution.

Cashbook beta will launch on 17 February, followed by Essentials launch in April to coincide with a transition from LiveAccounts.

“We have found that only 30 per cent of the current LiveAccounts users are taking advantage of the payroll option. So we will be rolling out payroll as an additional option for customers in the third quarter of the year,” said James Scollay, GM of the business division at MYOB.

The company will also introduce Accountants Office OnTheGo and Enterprise OnTheGo, browser-based interfaces that will allow accountants to access practice management data from any Web browser, including mobile devices, in the first quarter of the year.

The firm will also bring into the market options to support mobile businesses.

“We are launching later in the year MYOB PayDirect, a mobile app and card-reader hardware combination that will allow businesses with high-mobility to receive payments on the go. The app can be used stand-alone for receiving payments, or integrated with AccountRight Live to manage invoices, contacts and payments,” said Ben Ross, GM for user experience and design at MYOB.

The company has partnered with Microsoft to launch a Windows 8 companion app for AccountRight Live, which will enable clients to view their books on the go with Windows devices.

All the launches are to enable customers to move to the cloud easily, enable mobility and allow them to integrate further, according to Tim Reed, CEO of the MYOB.

“Around 35 per cent of New Zealand customers are already using MYOB’s cloud accounting solutions. The percentage of new client registrations for cloud accounting, as opposed to desktop software, is at 50 per cent this year across Australia and New Zealand. I think this will reach 75 per cent next year,” said Reed.

MYOB’s roadshow in Auckland brought together more than 500 of its business users and partners, and will be the start of visits to cities around New Zealand.
