Chorus corrects its connection figures

Previously-reported broadband connection numbers were wrong

Broadband infrastructure company, Chorus, has revised its broadband connection figures, identifying an error in the numbers posted on June 30, 2013.

The number of Basic UBA connections as at September 30 last year has been adjusted to 268,000 which is 11,000 less than it initially claimed three months prior.

This means total broadband connections on September 30 of last year were 1,124,000.

According to a submission to the NZX, the error was the result of a data process change post-June 30 which Chorus claims has now been corrected.

Chorus will next report connection numbers at its half-year results on February 24.
