IT Leaders Awards individual winners to get full-year access to Pathways program

Both ICT Manager of the Year and Future CIO of the Year winners will be able to use the Pathways program to further develop their skills and grow their expertise.

Computerworld NZ, the leading IT title of the country, has announced that winners of the individual trophies at the IT Leaders Awards 2014 will receive a full year's access to the Pathways ICT Leadership Development Program, besides the accolade of the award itself.

"Pathways is a unique, flexible, self-managed, self-paced 12-month professional development program that brings together best practices, thought leadership and business insights for today’s most promising ICT professionals.

"Pathways, which is designed and delivered by local and global CIOs, has had a lot of interest from New Zealand's ICT professionals who regularly take the course. It seemed only fitting to give it to our individual award winners, as we honour both their technical knowledge and business sensibility," says Barbara Simon, president and publisher at IDG Enterprise in Australia and New Zealand.

Both ICT Manager of the Year and Future CIO of the Year winners will be able to use the Pathways program, delivered by the CIO Executive Council, to further develop their skills and grow their expertise.

Computerworld NZ is in the process of accepting nominations for the the inaugural IT Leaders Awards across all categories. The awards are set to highlight the risk-takers and achievers in the country's ICT teams.

Robin Johansen, former Beca CIO and judge of IT Leaders Awards 2014, says, "As I move around the IT community I am constantly struck by the innovation which is flourishing and the capability of people working in IT. I look forward to even more of this being exposed to the team of judges in the course of the awards process and seeing the winners being acknowledged for the contribution they make to their respective organisations and the New Zealand economy as a whole"

"It is incredibly important that as an industry we recognise, acknowledge and reward our future-leaders via programs like Computerworld's IT Leaders Awards. We need to start shining a light on the next generation of business savvy CIOs, as a means to showcase what is being achieved now and the potential for the future, to inspire developing ICT professionals," says Caroline Bucknell, GM of the CIO Executive Council in Australia.

As part of the panel of local and international experts at Computerworld NZ's IT Leaders Awards this year, both Bucknell and Johansen, along with the other judges, will go through the nominations at the end of the process to cherry-pick the winners.

Winners will be announced at a Computerworld NZ IT Leaders Awards event in October this year.
