MYOB reshuffles the pack as cloud momentum continues

"Our business is in great shape, and the key appointments announced today will help drive MYOB to even stronger results in 2015.”

MYOB has announced key appointments today, designed to increase the company’s focus on maintaining the uptake of cloud solutions by SMEs, accounting practices and enterprises across Australia and New Zealand.

Andrew Birch, currently General Manager of the Enterprise and Connected Services Divisions, will become the General Manager of Industry Solutions.

In this newly created role Birch will oversee the launch of the next phase of MYOB’s cloud solutions.

This includes the re-imagining of accounting practice solutions Accountants Office and Accountants Enterprise for the cloud, as well as the launch of the cloud-ERP solution Advanced for mid-to-large companies, complementing MYOB’s existing EXO solutions.

Kevin Rawlings, previously National Manager, Client Relations, has been appointed General Manager of Practice Solutions, where he will be directly responsible for the delivery of MYOB’s accounting practice solutions and will report to Birch.

“I am excited about working with Kevin to ensure that our next generation of practice solutions provide an outstanding experience for our partners and their clients," Birch says.

“MYOB Accountants Office and MYOB Accountants Enterprise have been the benchmark for accountants working in public practice for over 25 years, and we’re looking forward to working with our partners as we re-imagine their extensive functionality in the cloud.”

Meanwhile Adam Ferguson, currently General Manager of Accountants Division, will become General Manager of Engineering and Experience.

Ferguson will head up the newly created division that brings together the management, development and delivery of MYOB’s entire suite of cloud and mobile business solutions into one single business unit.

Ferguson says he is looking forward to overseeing the development of new innovative solutions.

“It has been a highlight of my career to have worked so closely with our fantastic accounting partners, but I know that Andrew and Kevin will do an outstanding job of working with them as MYOB moves its practice solutions to the cloud," he adds.

As a result of the reshuffle, the SME Solutions division, which is responsible for SME adoption of cloud accounting solutions through MYOB’s accounting partners, will be headed by James Scollay.

Scollay’s team will continue to drive the uptake of MYOB’s range of cloud accounting and mobile products for small businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

MYOB CEO Tim Reed says he is extremely pleased with the new appointments, which will help ensure MYOB continues the momentum being seen in the business.

“These appointments are focussed on providing the best possible range of solutions and support for over 1.2 million business customers in Australia and New Zealand, as well as our extensive network of accountants and partners," he says.

“We are seeing strong take-up of our cloud accounting solutions, which is directly driving our continued growth.

"In our latest financial results we produced our best ever half-year performance.

"Our business is in great shape, and the key appointments announced today will help drive MYOB to even stronger results in 2015.”

The new appointments take effect from December 1.
