Serko: Because I'm Routehappy...

Kiwi tech firm partners with Routehappy to provide Serko Mobile users with comfort-related flight information.

It might seem crazy what Serko's about to say, but the Auckland-based tech firm has partnered with Routehappy, a leader in flight ratings and amenities information to provide Serko Mobile users with comfort-related flight information.

As airlines improve and diversify their services and amenities, travellers are increasingly making purchasing decisions based on more than just flight price.

According to Serko insight, travellers today are seeking information about seat size pitch and layout, access to WiFi and power points, seat-back entertainment, aircraft quality, and trip speed; yet many current booking systems don’t tell the full story of what each flight provider offers.

In a bid to transform business travel, Serko will now offer mobile users access to Routehappy’s global database of flight information when Serko Mobile’s commercial trial is complete in early 2015.

“For business travellers price is just one of the decision-making factors," says Darrin Grafton, CEO, Serko.

"Increasingly, access to power points, WiFi, seats with more legroom or that recline fully flat, and easy connecting flights, play an equally important role in the selection process.

"This solution will help business travellers know which flight is the best fit for their change or new booking and partnering with Routehappy allows us to give travellers the information they need to stay happy and productive in the air, which is in the interest of both the traveller and their employer.”

The Routehappy integration will provide Serko Mobile users with a Happiness Score out of 10 for flights based on the in-flight offering, with the data covering every flight worldwide with continually updates.

The Routehappy data will be available to all Serko Mobile users from early 2015.
