Spark Digital boosts leadership team to focus on cloud and data centres

Spark Digital reveals newly created role as General Manager Cloud, Infrastructure and Data Centres, based in Auckland.

Spark Digital has appointed Mike Smith to the company’s leadership team in a newly created role as General Manager Cloud, Infrastructure and Data Centres, based in Auckland.

Reporting to CEO Tim Miles, Smith will have overall responsibility for the company’s data centres, cloud professional services and the Revera business.

Smith is a senior executive with extensive experience in the ICT sector across Australasia, currently holding several existing ICT board memberships including Revera.

Prior to joining Spark Digital Smith was Chief Executive at Oxygen Business Systems for ten years and before this held other senior executive roles at Jade Software Corporation and IBM New Zealand.

Miles says Smith's "experience and knowledge of digital platforms combined with his deep understanding of cloud infrastructure" will be a strong competitive advantage for Spark Digital.

“I am delighted to have a candidate of Mike’s calibre join the Spark Digital leadership team," Miles says.

"Mike is a well-respected and successful executive with well-honed leadership skills.

Smith starts work at Spark Digital next week.
