Kordia New Zealand has joined forces with Cyan to build a 100 Gigabit network designed to enable enhanced experience, more compelling services and increased backbone capability for Kordia customers, both wholesale and retail.
Kordia’s implementation of the Cyan technology will mean that the compounding bandwidth demands of Kiwi businesses can be serviced on the new packet optical network, benefitting a wide range of customers with diverse business drivers.
The packet-optical platform complements Kordia’s existing network which already provides high capacity data services between all regional and provincial cities interconnecting with all major data centres and access network providers.
According to Kordia, the service will be available initially in the North Island and later rolled out across the South Island.
Drew Gilpin, director of sales and marketing at Kordia, says the partnership with Cyan provides enhanced visibility across all layers of the Kordia network, making it easy to manage customer experience from end to end.

“The software-defined network enables customers to scale capacity to suit as and when they require.

By implementing with the Cyan DWDM platform, Kordia is also now able provide its customers a network with the most advanced packet optical technology available.
