​Triple-fire hire as Orion Health expands global management team

NZX-listed company Orion Health is expanding its strategic management team due to global growth, with the recruitment of a new Chief Information Officer (CIO), Vice President (VP) Marketing, North America, and Managing Director, Canada.

The recruitment drive sees Johan Vendrig, Robert Pepper and Susan Anderson join the growing Kiwi company as CIO, VP of Marketing and Managing Director of Canada respectively.

As Orion Health’s new CIO, Vendrig brings a wealth of health IT experience to role, following time as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for HSA Global, alongside nine years at Auckland District Health Board.

Going forward, a key part of Vendrig’s Orion Health role will be ensuring sound, effective systems are in place to support the organisation’s business transformation programme.

“Orion Health is a company I have come to know very well throughout my career,” Vendrig says. “It’s a real Kiwi success story and an organisation I am proud and excited to be working for. I am looking forward to being a part of its future success.”

As Orion Health’s new Managing Director for Canada, Anderson brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare informatics to the role.

Most recently, Anderson was the Assistant Deputy Minister and CIO for the Health Information Technology and Systems Division at Alberta Health, playing a pivotal role in transforming Alberta’s healthcare system into one of the most digitally connected in North America.

“I am excited to join the Orion Health Canada team and help our clients exploit the latest advancements in population health management,” Anderson adds.

“What attracted me most about the company is our shared ideal of a fully connected, seamless digital healthcare system that truly puts the patient at its centre.”

Finally, Pepper joins the company as VP Marketing, North America with experience in the healthcare technology and software communications industries spanning more than 25 years and across more than 50 countries.

Prior to joining Orion Heath, Pepper served in a marketing executive capacity in healthcare for VISICU, Philips Healthcare and SoftMed Systems, among other technology companies.

Pepper will be helping Orion Health to strategically target the North American market during a time where the healthcare sector is at a point of pivotal change.
