TUANZ replaces three board members

TUANZ appoints three new board members following AGM

The Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand (TUANZ) has announced the appointment of three new board members to replace three retiring members, following its AGM. It says the move shows “real engagement with where TUANZ is heading and what it can offer New Zealand businesses as users of digital technology.”

It added: “The new board will continue the work on implementing TUANZ’ strategic direction – ensuring New Zealanders can make the most of the digitally connected world – and achieving its vision of New Zealand being among the top ten countries for business use of digital technology by 2020.”

TUANZ said there had been eight candidates for the three positions, and more than 50 percent of TUANZ membership had voted. Chair Pat O’Connell was re-elected for a further 12-month term.

The new board members will each serve two-year terms. They are: Malcolm Condie - ANZ Bank; Rob McDonnell - Air New Zealand, Vaughan Baker - MyRepublic NZ.

Condie holds a technology leadership role with ANZ bank, and most recently was responsible for merging the technology capability of ING NZ into the ANZ Bank in NZ. McDonnell is head of Digital Enterprise at Air New Zealand. Baker is managing director of MyRepublic, the fibre focused broadband provider disrupting the telecommunications and content industries.

The new members replace David Clarke - AGC Networks, Kevin Drinkwater – Mainfreight, and David Gatland and Mike Foley, both Independent members. They join Donna Spargo – Downer NZ; Guy Alexander – Xero; Jenna Woolley – Network for Learning; Liz Gosling – Auckland University of Technology; Maxine Elliot – Vocus Communications; Doug Wilson – New Zealand Automobile Association.
