Cogent to resell FaceMe videoconferencing

FaceMe was founded in 2009 as a division of Hitech Solutions but was spun out in 2012

Unified communications and IT services provider Cogent will offer videoconferencing services from New Zealand startup FaceMe.

Cogent CEO Ray Noonan described the partnership as “another step in Cogent’s vision to provide our customers with exceptional unified communications and networking solutions.

FaceMe was founded in 2009 as a division of Hitech Solutions but was spun out in 2012. According to Cogent, it “has led the global market in the evolution of browser-based video conferencing.”

FaceMe CEO, Danny Tomsett, said the partnership would enable Cogent customers to take advantage of FaceMe’s global network, providing HD quality to almost every continent, with the benefit of local New Zealand expertise and support.

“Customers want simple and secure video solutions that make connecting all our various devices easy,” Tomsett said. “Our Customer Experience Framework is a game changer and means anyone can connect without the technology getting in the way of what really matters; connecting people.”

Cogent’s offering will include the FaceMe’s video in contact centre, meeting room and global conferencing platform. Cogent said the deal represented “A fantastic opportunity for New Zealand businesses to engage a single partner to build long term customer engagement strategies, leveraging the fastest growing medium for communications in the world.”

FaceMe says it offers its technology to service providers wanting to white label it, either from public cloud services or for installation in their own data centre. “The product offering includes a complete turnkey solution including billing, branding, integration and deployment,” FaceMe says.

“Flexible licencing plans will allow the service provider to customise their own market offering, building brand loyalty as well as significantly higher margins than mainstream products.”
