Recruit IT launches developers contest

Recruit IT says the competitions are open to all C++/C developers, Java developers, .Net developers, mobile developers, web developers and automated testers in New Zealand

IT recruitment company, Recruit IT, has launched two competitions for IT developers, one for individuals and one for teams: NZ Top Tech Head and Top Tech Team 2016.

Recruit IT says the competitions are open to all C++/C developers, Java developers, .Net developers, mobile developers, web developers and automated testers in New Zealand.

Entrants’ skills are assessed with Recruit IT’s iclue app that is normally used to assess the abilities of job applicants. According to Recruit IT it is a SaaS based IT technical testing tool in the form of a quiz and uses machine learning to scale the difficulty of the test in real time in accordance with a candidate’s technical ability. “Answer the questions too easily and iclue will make the questions harder,” Recruit IT says.

The Top Tech Team competition is new this year.It challenges either corporate or social teams to test their technical skills. Recruit IT says it will appeal to companies that enjoy a ‘friendly rivalry’ as well as teams of friends getting together to compete and show of their skills.

“Teams could end up competing against teams within their own workplace or perhaps look to challenge other companies,” the company says. “The bragging rights within the office will be memorable for the winning team.”

There must be at least four members in each team (Recruit IT has not specified an upper limit). The entire team can select the same category or individual members can select up to four different categories. Each individual takes the iclue quiz in their chosen specialist area. All individual results are then collated and pooled to gain each team’s overall score.
