FRAMINGHAM (09/15/2003) - Cogent Communications Inc. this week announced the launch of a pre-paid offering for service providers that gives them 10M bit/sec connections for US$1,000 a month.
Cogent's new service is targeted at small- to mid-sized service providers that do not have long-term credit histories but require high-speed Internet access. Making the product available on a pre-paid basis enables Cogent customers to initiate service quicker and more easily, Cogent says.
The Prepay 10 Megabit service will be available in over 200 collocation centers across the U.S., including Navisite Inc., Equinix Inc., PAIX , LayerOne and Switch & Data.
