Changing of the guard

This issue of Information Age represents a new era for the ACS, with IDG Communications (publisher of ComputerWorld), taking over responsibility for producing the magazine.

I would like to thank the talented team at Strategic Publishing for the outstanding job they performed in developing the magazine to its current level. Over the past five years Information Age has grown and developed into a quality publication that received a Highly Commended prize for the Specialist Publication Category at the recent Australian Business Publishers Awards Awards.

We are committed to maintaining and enhancing the standard of Information Age over the coming months and welcome your comments and feedback on our efforts.

The new year has also brought a new ACS Publications Board director in Glenn Stewart, who will be responsible for overseeing the development of both Information Age and the Australian Computer Journal.

Our outgoing Publications Board director, Professor John Hughes, worked tirelessly over several years in support of this magazine and we offer our sincere thanks for his commitment and dedication.

As we begin a new year, I encourage you to consider what role you can take within the ACS to help us further our position as the IT industry's professional society.

Join us in undertaking strategic initiatives designed to build and develop our profession and the Australian IT industry as a whole.
