SSS teams with BlockBit Solutions to tap blockchain for security

Announces new partnership

New Zealand IT security specialists SSS has formed a partnership with Australian blockchain technology company BlockBit Solutions to develop security solutions that will exploit blockchain technologies.

SSS has provided online security for government and corporate clients for 30 years. It develops both custom and off-the-shelf software products and specialises in email security and consulting.

BlockBit says its mission is to using blockchain technology, to disrupt the market by solving problems that undermine trust in business transactions. The company provides a range of security application and connected device solutions and professional services

SSS general manager Ashton Jones said BlockBit would combine its technical depth with SSS’s IT security expertise to offer end-to-end solutions that drive game-changing outcomes.

Melbourne based BlockBit Solutions (https://blockbitsolutions.com/, not be confused with US based cyber security company Blockbit https://www.blockbit.com) entered the New Zealand market in December 2017 when it opened an office in Palmerston North saying it would focus on Blockchain product development, education and consulting for customers across New Zealand, Australia and APAC region.

BlockBit founder Reeanjou Ram said the Palmerston North office would create at least 25 jobs in its first year.

The company said it had established strategic alliances with the Central Economic Development Agency (CED), the Association of Local Government Information Management (ALGIM), Massey University and Palmerston North City Council “to drive blockchain awareness and promote growth of technology businesses in the region and create opportunities for technology specialists and IT graduates with a passion for emerging technology.” It also lists Kordia as a partner.

The company named Hollie Cleaver as chief digital officer for its New Zealand business in February 2018.
