One of two new models in the Lumix range of digital still cameras, the golden-coloured four mega-pixel LC43 is aimed at users making the switch to digital photography. Along with the silver three mega-pixel LC33 model, it uses Panasonic Secure Digital (SD) memory card as its recording media and is supplied with a 16MB card for transferring images to PC. Moving image (QuickTime Motion JPEG) and audio recording are also available. Eight settings on a mode dial make it easier for novices to take better pictures, with images reviewed in a 1.5-inch LCD monitor. Both models come with a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens with 3x optical zoom and a Mega Burst recording feature, which enables four-frames-per-second shooting. Both models are available from Panasonic.
RRP: LC33 $769; LC43 $879
