Unison Energy signs 10-year software deal with TechnologyOne

Energy provider to use OneEnergy suite

Energy provider Unison Networks has signed a multi-million dollar 10-year deal with Australian IT company TechnologyOne to use TechnologyOne’s OneEnergy suite of IT products, which is already used by MainPower, Alpine Energy and Network Waitaki.

TechnologyOne describes OneEnergy as an integrated enterprise solution for network companies that provides deep functionality to manage their business, customers, network, assets, work and resources. It claims to have developed the product in collaboration with some 60 utilities and infrastructure customers.

It comprises a number of TechnologyOne’s specific products: financials; enterprise asset management; human resource & payroll; supply chain; business intelligence enterprise; budgeting; performance planning; enterprise content management.

Unison Group CEO Ken Sutherland said OneEnergy would provide a smart network and an integrated business operations platform that would strengthen the company’s core capability and improve overall efficiency and was part of a wider strategy focused on future proofing the organisation.

Unison’s CIO Mike McGarvey said TechnologyOne’s solution would transform the company’s mobile workforce into a connected team.

“The benefits of a single, modern platform with powerful mobile capabilities will allow us to capture, input and access our enterprise data on any device at any time – whether that be in the office or out in the field.

“Not only will this result in greater efficiencies, it will enhance data integrity and ensure we have access to real-time information for informed decision making.”

TechnologyOne COO Stuart MacDonald said that, increasingly, organisations were for a fully integrated ERP solution, because it simplified operations and removed the complexity of dealing with multiple vendors.
