2Talk offers Microsoft Teams Direct Routing

2talk's service uses a session border controller certified by Microsoft for Direct Routing

Auckland based business communications company 2talk is  offering Microsoft Teams Direct Routing service, enabling Microsoft Office 365 users with Microsoft E3 + Microsoft Phone System licensing or Microsoft E5 licensing to link their Business phone numbers to Microsoft Teams and make and receive calls from the PSTN.

According to 2talk, Teams is the fasting growing business application in Microsoft history as users embrace the collaboration and communication facilities the service offers, including the ability to connect with anyone via Direct Routing.

Kordia became the first communication provider in New Zealand to offer Teams Direct Routing in September 2018, shortly after launch of the service. It was followed days later by Voipline Telecom.

2talk's service uses a session border controller certified by Microsoft for Direct Routing, which it says ensures high call quality for all 2talk customers using Teams for telephony.

2talk general manager Judith Flood said the product could scale to tens of thousands of simultaneous sessions, and 2talk partners could instantly provision a Team user’s trunk and add numbers to it via 2talk’s web portal.

“Partners will still need to complete some set up in the end customer’s Microsoft Office 365 tenant, however 2talk will provide training and assistance for partners on this, and ultimately it’s super easy and quickly configurable,” Flood said.

According to 2talk, Microsoft Teams is set to become the most popular workplace collaboration tool, creating a strong market opportunity for existing and new Microsoft partners.

“The technology also provides a simple and effective way to replace aging PABX and telephony systems, and leverage existing Microsoft licenses in businesses small and large,” 2talk says.
