NEC to provide ICT support to MPs and senators

Three-year contract covers 260 electorate offices in Australia

NEC Australia won a three-year contract with the Department of Parliamentary Services to provide managed ICT services and support to 260 electorate offices of Australian senators and members of Parliament across the country.

The Department of Parliamentary Services provides administrative, operational and ICT support to the Senate and House of Representatives. The three-year contract commenced in April and covers more than 260 servers, 1300 desktops, 300 laptops and 700 printers, NEC said.

The government agency had a previous contract with CSG IT Services that began in 2003. However, NEC Australia acquired CSG in May last year. DPS awarded the new contract to NEC after completing an open tender process.

NEC did not disclose the financial terms of the contract.
