AVG acquires Sana Security

Security vendor AVG has acquired identity theft prevention software developer Sana Security.

AVG says the buy is part of its growth strategy of continually improving internet security for individuals and small businesses, and global expansion.

It says Sana’s technology complements its existing portfolio, and will help users simplify protection against identity theft.

“AVG will continue to maintain low PC resource utilisation for optimal system performance, a critical requirement both for the individual at home and for the business user,” says J.R. Smith, CEO of AVG Technologies.
