Expat NZer Richards to be released from jail in US

Former CA sales chief's sentence is halved after appeal

Former CA global sales head and expatriate New Zealander Stephen Richards is to be freed from prison in California after serving 44 months of a seven-year sentence. His sentence was reduced to time served following an appeal.

Richards and former CA CEO Sanjay Kumar were jailed in 2006 for their part in a securities fraud which involved incorrectly recording sales dates after financial quarters had ended, in order to boost CA's stock price.

Richards' release is reported on in detail by www.stuff.co.nz and The Australian.
