Nortel Ethernet Switches

Even as its future hangs in the air, Nortel continues to release new products. It has extended its Ethernet series of data solutions by unveiling the new Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 5600 family for enterprises.

The Ethernet Routing Switch 5600 has been designed as a cost effective and reliable switch not only suitable for deployment in the datacentre, but can also be used in the edge, distribution and core layers of the network. The 5600 switches are stack-compatible with the existing ERS 5500 switches.

Nortel's assets are being sold, and Avaya is believed to have bid for Nortel's enterprise unit.
