Nelson company integrates with Salesforce

FuseIT claims to be the first local Salesforce Consulting Partner to be accepted into the worldwide programme

Nelson-based FuseIT has built a product that will be part of the Salesforce.com Application Exchange. The company claims to be the first New Zealand Salesforce Consulting Partner to be accepted into the worldwide programme.

FuseIT, a content management and website development company founded in 1993, has been working with California-based online printing company Print Sf to develop the Salesforce.com web-based plug-in, called PrintSf.com, which enables Salesforce users to create highly personalised direct marketing materials on-demand, says Fuse IT chief executive Richard Clarke.

The application was officially launched at the Salesforce’s SaaS conference, Dreamforce 2008, in San Francisco this week (held 2-5 November), says Clarke.

Print Sf contracted FuseIT to integrate Salesforce.com with Print Sf’s print software, says Clarke.

The application allows Salesforce users to manage marketing collateral, direct mail and digital media. PrintSf.com facilitates real-time address validation and postal reports on Salesforce lists, he says.

“FuseIT bridged the technology void between legacy on-premise software and the latest web based services,” says Print Sf’s chief executive Mark Cira.

The company has been working on the project since October last year, says Clarke.

FuseIT recently re-branded from PolyMedia, which initially was a multimedia company, says Clarke. In addition to the Nelson office, the company opened an office in California three months ago.

The company has a team of six developers. Clarke says he has not had any problem finding skilled staff.

“Nelson attracts senior level people,” he says. There is also a pool of graduate level people thanks to the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, but finding intermediate people is a bit more difficult, he says.
