Telecom inks renewed contracts with Alcatel-Lucent

Deal is with post-separation Telecom entity, not Chorus

Telecom and Alcatel-Lucent have signed a renewed three-year managed services agreement and a strategic supplier agreement in the lead-up to the structural separation of Telecom and Chorus.

The new contracts will be between Alcatel-Lucent and the new Telecom entity that emerges from structural separation, a Telecom spokesperson told Computerworld.

The deals cover Telecom’s fixed-line and mobile networks.

In a statement, Telecom chief technology officer David Havercroft says: “Getting our supplier relationships in order has been a business priority for some time, and I’m pleased to have reached these agreements with Alcatel-Lucent, which will deliver the support and flexibility Telecom will need as we face the changes ahead.”
