NZICT appoints new board members

HP's Keith Watson, Datacom's Greg Davidson and IBM's Michael Friedberg join

The New Zealand Information Communication Technology Group (NZICT) has appointed three new board members following its AGM last week.

The three new board members are CEO of Datacom Greg Davidson, IBM marketing and communications manager Michael Friedberg and MD of Hewlett Packard NZ Keith Watson. They replace outgoing board members Daryl French from IBM, Geoff Lawrie of Cisco and Geoff Hunt of Kordia.

In a statement, NZICT chair Bennett Medary says: “These three individuals will bring a vast range of skills and experience to the board. We have a fantastic cross-section of representation from small, medium, large, New Zealand and multinational members."

The statement also notes that a replacement for NZICT’s inaugural CEO, Brett O’Riley, who departed last week, is being sought.

"The NZICT board is currently screening candidates for his replacement and expects to announce his successor in the coming weeks."
