Christchurch firms make NZ Hi-Tech Awards finals

Computerworld and sister publication CIO also in the running

Three IT companies from Christchurch are among the finalists in this year’s NZ Hi-Tech Awards, a feat NZ Hi-Tech Trust chair Wayne Norrie describes as a “testimony to the hi-tech sector continuing to be a dominant force for Canterbury.”

The Christchurch firms are: YikeBike, a finalist in the Dell Innovative Hardware Product Category; and NZ Tax Refunds and Sense Medical, both finalists in the Vodafone Most Innovative Product form an Emerging Market category.

Computerworld has also made the finalist list, with reporter Stephen Bell a finalist in the SwayTech Hi-Tech Journalist Award. The other finalists are CIO editor Divina Paredes and the New Zealand Herald’s Anthony Doesburg.

The Awards take place on May 6 in Wellington. A full list of finalists can be found here.
