Former Carter Holt Harvey boss lands CFO job at Redmond

Former Carter Holt Harvey chief executive Chris Liddell has been appointed chief financial officer at Microsoft and will take up the position at Microsoft’s Redmond, Washington global headquarters next month.

Liddell had been CFO at International Paper, the majority owner of Carter Holt Harvey, since March 2003. He was appointed chief executive at Carter Holt in 1999.

Microsoft today issued a statement quoting Microsoft chief executive Steve Ballmer saying: “Chris brings great talent and skills both in finance and business leadership and having been both CEO and CFO of international companies gives him the ability to contribute broadly to our finance, operations and business strategy.”

Liddell will officially begin his new job on May 9.
