In one high-profile incident last week, a group called the Pakistan Hackerz Club took credit for breaking into the website of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, defacing the site with a message condemning the acts of Israeli soldiers in Palestine as "atrocities," while also criticising the US government.
The Pakistan Hackerz Club also managed to steal 3500 email addresses and 700 credit card numbers from the site, transmitting anti-Israel statements to the addresses and publishing the stolen credit card numbers on the web.
