Dear What Am I Worth,

I am a graduating Webmaster, with a diploma of Internet technology. On our course we cover HTML, Javascript, CSS, DHTML and ASP, as well as NT and IIS (Internet information service). What should I ask for my skills? I live in Christchurch.

Graduate

Intellimark replies: Graduate salaries usually start off between $30,000 to $35,000. If you had previous IT experience before you started your diploma this could raise the entry-level salary slightly, and it could also be higher again in Auckland. You could expect your salary to be reviewed on a yearly basis, as you gain more experience you will become more valuable and your salary should be adjusted. A Webmaster with two years' experience can expect to earn upwards of $50,000.
