LINZ to issue RFI, search for suppliers to refresh Landonline

Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) will release preliminary information early next week on a project to modernise Landonline, a database for land title and survey information.

LINZ is issuing a request for information (RFI) as part of the process of completing a detailed business case for Landonline’s refreshment.

LINZ customer services GM Jan Pierce said Landonline is 14 years old and must become more responsive to emerging customer needs, including interoperability and 3D capability.

“We’re in the early stages of a long-term programme of work. The detailed business case is to solidify design and costings around our preferred option, which is to enhance Landonline.

“We need to make sure, however, that we innovate for future needs while building on the solid foundations of our current offering.”

The process will be run as an open RFI through the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS), fulfilling LINZ’s obligation as a core government agency to ensure that any Crown capital projects are advertised to both domestic and international suppliers.

“The RFI will give us a better understanding of the number and type of suppliers and the range of solutions, technology and products or services available,” said Pierce.

On March 10 LINZ will also host an open market presentation to discuss the importance of the RFI process, provide project background, discuss specific requirements and provide some indicative timelines. Potential suppliers will have a chance to ask questions and network during the presentation.
