DiData to set up Auckland cloud facility to meet customer demand

Dimension Data (DiData) will be setting up an Auckland-based managed cloud platform (MCP).

The facility, which will be launched in October this year, will bring the company's total number of global MCP locations to 13 and is expected to address the demand for cloud services in New Zealand.

James Walls, CTO of DiData NZ, said the development is in response to demand.

“Kiwi organisations are jumping head first into cloud and have created a demand for a data center onshore to support their operations as well as business continuity, backup and replication. Our aim is to help our clients accelerate their ambition, and we believe our local presence and global reach can allow them to do just that.

“The new service gives clients access to a world-class local platform, as well as to our multiple global MCPs. This means export-oriented organisations have the opportunity to expand their business worldwide with low-latency access to secure, reliable, scalable cloud services,” said Walls.

According to the firm, all of its public MCPs are enterprise-ready, offering layers of security, administrative controls, 99.99 per cent availability SLAs on public cloud and integrated management capabilities.

Some of its NZ clients using global MCP capability includes apparel brand Kathmandu and dairy products exporter Westland Milk.
