Movements: Murray Young, John Holt, Kalman Bekesi

We track high profile industry figures who recently made a switch.

Former Gen-I serivces manager Murray Young has taken up the role of CIO at Customs. He replaces Garth Biggs, who was Customs interim CIO for the past year. Biggs, a former chief executive of Gen-I was employed by Customs on a fixed term contract.

John Holt, the co-founder and chairman of Kiwi Landing Pad (KLP), has been appointed as chairman of Wellington-based software company Syl Research's board of directors.

A former Cantabrian, Holt currently divides his time between Wellington and San Francisco and is the chairman and a director of KLP, 90 Seconds TV, and Modlar, and is a director of Generator. He has previously held senior roles with ANZ Banking Group, Hewlett Packard, Wheeler Campbell Consulting and IBM.

Syl’s board currently comprises John Holt, Shayne Hunter, Lindsay Jackson, Craig Jones, John Selby and managing director Sean Wilson.

Kalman Bekesi, CTO of Movio, is joining the panel of judges for the 2014 Talent Unleashed Awards.

He will be joining entrepreneurs Sir Richard Branson and Steve Wozniak, as well as CEO of the New Zealand Technology Industry Association, Candace Kinser and MD for South East Asia and Australia NZ at LinkedIn Cliff Rosenberg.

The Awards, founded by Sydney based Talent International, were created to recognise exceptional tech talent in the Asia Pacific Region.
