Brocade reshuffles APAC leadership team in SDN drive

Brocade has made two key appointments to its APAC leadership team in a bid to drive the company's software-defined networking strategy across the region.

The networking vendor has appointed Chee Keong 'CK' Lam director of Data Centre Fabric and Virtualisation for Asia Pacific.

Beni Sia has become regional director for South-East Asia.

Based out of Singapore, both will be responsible for driving the company’s datacentre and software-defined networking (SDN) strategy and adoption across the regions.

Lam will report to Brocade Chief Technology Officer for APAC, Matt Kolon.

Lam most recently worked at Juniper Networks, where he was responsible for driving large customer engagements for Juniper’s datacentre solutions, spanning routing, switching, and security across Asia Pacific.

Prior to Juniper Networks, Lam was an advisory sales specialist at IBM Global Technology Services for network infrastructure and datacentre solutions.

He also held various senior technical positions at Intel and Novell.

According to a company statement, Sia will be responsible for charting the company’s strategic direction and growth for the region, and driving customer adoption of Brocade's ethernet fabric and software networking solutions.

He will report directly to Brocade vice president for APAC, Adam Judd.

Sia was most recently the country director for Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines and Indo-China at Juniper Networks.

Judd said the addition of Lam and Sia to the regional leadership team validated the company's strong commitment to the region.

“There is a perfect storm of new technologies and new business requirements all hitting at the same time, and Brocade is uniquely positioned to challenge and disrupt the current networking status quo by taking an evolutionary and revolutionary approach to innovation and development cycles," he said.

"APAC is forecast to become the second biggest revenue contributor in the global SDN market by 2019, and our leading position in Ethernet fabric adoption and software networking will put us in an excellent position to leverage these imminent opportunities to deliver agile and flexible networks for our customers.”
