IBM Australia and New Zealand MD retires

IBM has confirmed that its Australia and New Zealand managing director, Andrew Stevens, has retired after being in the role since January 2011.

A spokesperson told Computerworld Australia that Stevens is retiring after 33 years in the IT industry.

“He will use his significant leadership experience to advance the causes that he is passionate about,” the spokesperson said.

According to IBM, a replacement will be found from its internal ranks.

Stevens joined IBM in 2002 as part of its acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Consulting business.

He was IBM’s Asia Pacific global business services lead from 2002 to 2009. From January 2009 to January 2011 he was an IBM global business services managing partner.

In January 2011 he was promoted to the MD role.
