Microsoft New Zealand has officially announced two key new appointees to its marketing team, which it says will be instrumental in aligning the company’s local marketing efforts with the global company’s new ‘mobile first, cloud first’ direction.

Dirk Develter has been appointed as Cloud and Enterprise Business Group Lead for Microsoft NZ.

This role has end-to-end accountability for Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise products and services portfolio, including Microsoft Azure, Windows Server and SQL Server.

Develter has already worked six years for Microsoft in roles as a Dynamics CRM specialist and Office 365 specialist. He has also previously held consultancy roles at Datacom, and Barclay Capital in the UK.

Meanwhile Andrew Turley has been appointed as the new Marketing Communications Manager, responsible for managing the Microsoft brand, external agency relationships and oversight of all marketing initiatives for Microsoft New Zealand.

Turley comes to the new role having previously worked for over three years in the Digital Marketing Manager role at Microsoft NZ.

Frazer Scott, Marketing and Operations Director for Microsoft New Zealand, says that the new direction set for Microsoft globally by its new CEO, Satya Nadella, has been an invigorating and inspiring journey for the company so far this year.

“I’m thrilled that Dirk and Andrew have joined us at this exciting time and am looking forward to their collective skills contributing to the growth of Microsoft as the productivity and platform company for the mobile-first, cloud-first world in our New Zealand context,” Scott adds.
