NZ handed major network operator as Vocus and FX networks combine

Fibre provider FX Networks has confirmed it will adopt the brand name of Vocus Communications, who acquired its business in July 2014.

The two businesses combined have resulted in a major data network operator in New Zealand.

Vocus CEO David Heald says the decision to move to a single brand was made a lot earlier than expected.

“The integration of FX into the Vocus Group has gone extremely well and has been received positively by staff and customers," he says.

"As a result, it became clear the benefits in moving to a single brand in New Zealand sooner rather than later outweigh any possible downsides.

“There’s no doubt that the FX brand – or perhaps more accurately, the FX ‘experience’ - has enjoyed a great reputation during its ten years.

"The people and values underpinning this reputation of being flexible, responsive and focused on our customers are still here. This will not change."

The company is migrating to the single brand gradually through the early part of 2015.

Already this has begun with the relocation of Auckland-based Vocus and FX staff moving from their original Albany and Parnell offices into a new combined office: Vocus House, 25 Teed Street, Newmarket in January.

FX Networks has additional offices in Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch - these will progressively migrate to the Vocus brand.

As reported by Reseller News, Vocus Communications will sell its construction division to a new joint venture between Vocus and Spark New Zealand, to be named Connect 8.
