New Vodafone partnership - Telco, tricks and Netflix…

Vodafone has teamed up with Netflix in New Zealand, offering Kiwis new deals and streaming on their smartphone devices.

Vodafone has teamed up with Netflix as its exclusive communications launch partner in New Zealand, offering Kiwis new deals and streaming on their smartphone devices.

From March 24, the telco will give customers Netflix service free for six months when they sign up for 24 months to one of its Red+ mobile plans.

Partnering for the launch in New Zealand, and taking a dig at rival service LightBox, the telco says the link between the two providers highlights Vodafone’s "continued commitment" to put the best content and entertainment in front of Kiwis.

Armed with Vodafone’s 4G mobile network, Kiwis can use smartphones, tablets or laptops to access the content.

“We know how excited Kiwis are about the arrival of Netflix, and are delighted to be partnering with the Netflix team to launch in the home of ‘The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug,’’ says Matt Williams, Consumer Director, Vodafone NZ.

‘’We’ve got New Zealand’s largest 4G network so our customers can have the best seat in the house on their mobile.

“New Zealanders are showing us just how much great mobile content has become part of their everyday. Recent research highlighted that 41% of our customers stream content at least once a month.”

The promotional offer is available to customers until June 30, 2015.
