CCL CTO honoured on the world’s virtual stage

Jon Waite, the CTO of Computer Concepts Limited (CCL) has been awarded with Vmware’s coveted vExpert status just ahead of VMware’s annual VMworld conference.

The vExpert title is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated significant contributions to the VMware community and a willingness to share their expertise with others.

The judges selected people who were particularly engaged with their community and who had developed a substantial personal platform of influence in those communities.

“I’m honoured to be recognised in this way,” Waite says. “At CCL we have an amazing team, with some of the best technical minds I’ve ever worked with, so I am also quite humbled to be singled out like this.

“Virtualisation is a bit of a passion for me, over the years it has revolutionised how modern data centres operate, changing how we consume modern computing.”

Waite says that CCL has invested “ahead of the curve” in virtualisation capability and data centre infrastructure already, building a culture of delivering innovation and results.

“This has given me the freedom to ensure that we are always making use of the latest virtualisation technology and enhancements to deliver the best possible results for our customers,” he adds.

CCL provide a large variety of services and end to end IT solutions including: Infrastructure as a Service, cloud computing, high performance End User Computing (EUC), security and network management as well as a suite of managed services.

“Jon is one of the most talented and passionate engineers I’ve met in the industry, not just in New Zealand but globally,” adds Andrew Allan, CEO CCL.

Waite is an Enterprise Architect with over 23 years of IT experience across a range of geographies and industries, seen as an expert in a wide range of IT disciplines, and has built a reputation around delivering results and making the impossible happen for clients.

Also, Waite’s broad skills cover much more than just virtualisation including x86 compute, Unix compute, networking, storage and storage networks, DR/BCP, and backup/recovery.

The vExpert announcement adds to his extensive list of VMware certifications including VMware Certified Professional, VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Data centre Administration, VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Datacenter Design.

Waite has been involved in the New Zealand service provider market for the past 12 years and serves as a mentor and technical escalation point for CCL engineers.
