Built in Wellington, Equinox IT launches new software performance firm

“Wild Strait is yet another example of a Wellington company exploring smarter, better ways to tackle complex challenges."

Equinox IT has launched a new company, Wild Strait, to deliver a world-first software performance product, developed in New Zealand’s innovation capital, Wellington.

Wild Strait, whose name pays tribute to the city and location in which it was created, will deliver the Wild Strait Performance Intelligence product.

According to the company, this new software performance product has been developed over the last three years by an Equinox IT product team that includes Equinox IT Director, and internationally recognised software performance expert, Richard Leeke.

The product integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise and Tableau ‘business intelligence’ software and is used by performance testers and developers to substantially reduce the time and cost required to ensure that web-based business systems are stable and respond quickly.

“Wild Strait is yet another example of a Wellington company exploring smarter, better ways to tackle complex challenges and taking that innovation to the world,” says Kim Wicksteed,” Chairman, Equinox IT.

“We’re excited to launch this new company and a product that will make a difference to organisations around the world that increasingly depend on software for their key business activities.”

Wild Strait was officially launched at a Wellington event where Xero’s Rod Drury spoke in support of Equinox IT taking its software product into new markets.

The Wild Strait Performance Intelligence product, along with the specialist software performance services that Equinox IT has always been known for, will now be delivered by Wild Strait.

The new company will be co-located with Equinox IT in both its Wellington and Auckland offices - Equinox IT will continue to deliver its other software development, consulting and training services.
