Bye-Data… Leadership restructure continues as top sales team departs

Dimension Data is continuing to reorganise its leadership team in New Zealand following the departure of four sales executives, led by National Sales Director Nick Halikias.
As reported first by NBR, the four have relinquished roles within the company’s Wellington sales division, and are rumoured to be embarking on a new contracted sales venture within the industry.
Sources close to Computerworld New Zealand suggest that the breakaway gang, led by Halikias, could form a contracted sales team, as it seems odd the party would fund a high-level sales force against Dimension Data’s existing sales team.
Industry gossip has linked the four to Spark New Zealand, given the telco’s close connections to Dimension Data with two former CEOs, Simon Gillespie and Robin Hartendorp, leaving the company for Gen-i, now Spark Digital, during the past three years.
That however, is purely speculation at this stage.
Following the departure of Halikias however, Dimension Data confirmed to Computerworld New Zealand that Stuart Robb has now been appointed new Interim Head of Sales, joining the executive team as the company advertises to fill 30 positions in its Kiwi team.
“Stuart Robb will be focused on leading the sales team and working with our clients to realise their business outcomes through innovative technology solutions,” says Jo Healey, CEO, Dimension Data, via an emailed statement to Computerworld New Zealand.
Effective from November 30, Robb brings over 20 years executive and board level experience with ICT and commercial programs of work, following roles at Ernst & Young, Telecom, Infinity Solutions, New Zealand Rugby Union, the NZ Racing Board, and Quinovic Property Management.
“Our clients are looking for business outcomes which often require solutions spanning more than one of our traditional business units and we have responded to that with a new structure which allows greater internal collaboration and a greater focus on innovation for our clients,” Healey adds.
“We can also better meet the growing demand for cloud and consumption based services.”
At present, Healey, says the company’s Wellington business is currently experiencing strong growth with a number of “significant new business wins”.
“One of these is a major outsourcing engagement,” adds Healey, who did not disclose details of the deal.
“This presents us with an opportunity to grow and strengthen our team.
"We are adding to the team so that we can continue to provide solutions which solve our clients’ business challenges.”
