​Grant Thornton secures place on Government ICT panel

Grant Thornton New Zealand has been appointed to the Government Chief Information Officer (GCIO) Assurance Services Sub-panel for ICT-enabled projects and programmes.

The panel has been set up to ensure agencies receive high quality, consistent, independent assurance information.

“We have an in depth understanding of the public sector and we’re really pleased to have the opportunity to provide our expertise and industry insights to help identify and manage risks for the Government and its agencies,” says Hamish Bowen, Grant Thornton Partner, IT Audit and Advisory.

“We’re looking forward to working with the New Zealand public sector to help deliver positive outcomes for its projects and programmes.”

The GCIO Assurance Services Sub-panel sits under the Assurance sub-category of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s (MBIE) All-of-Government (AoG) Consultancy Services Panel.

Bowen says Grant Thornton has secured places in all six sub-categories of the Government’s business and finance consultancy services panel; these include assurance, audit, procurement and logistics, accounting, finance and economics and taxation.

“The GCIO appointment further demonstrates our dedication to the sector; it’s something we’re really proud of,” Bowen adds.
