Auckland-based digital firm expands market reach with cloud email acquisition

“With this acquisition, we’re looking to solidify our New Zealand business while further developing opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.”

Auckland-based digital communications company Cumulo9 has acquired LiveLink Connect for an undisclosed sum, as it expands its reach and market offering.

Cumulo9 - formerly known as Calcium Software - closed the deal earlier this morning, with the companies officially formalising a partnership that began five years ago.

“We know how effective LiveLink is in delivering sales acceleration and marketing solutions to a broad customer base,” says Chris Hogg, CEO, Cumulo9.

“They have grown bigger and better over time, and we’re looking forward to seeing the results of our combined synergies.

“With this acquisition, we’re looking to solidify our New Zealand business while further developing opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region.”

Both Cumulo9 and LiveLink Connect provide cloud-based e-mail, workflow and document delivery systems, with Cumulo9 in particular generating many millions of emails for invoices, statements and other electronic communications across New Zealand.

As such, the company has been providing transactional e-mail services to the likes of NZ Post for almost a decade.

Since 2010, Livelink Connect has become market specialists in leveraging employee and marketing email for the SMB sector in particular, and consequently brought a number of products and solutions to the local market.

LiveLink Connect CEO Jason Roberts says clients will benefit most from the acquisition, and will now assume the position of General Manager of Sales within Cumulo9.

“We’ll be able to do more for our customers, and better,” he says.

“For example, we plan to package new solutions typically out of reach to small and medium-sized businesses due to pricing and complexity issues.

“This is now possible using Cumulo9’s products and expertise.”

Roberts says terms of the deal will see all Livelink staff retained, with the LiveLink Connect brand set to be integrated into Cumulo9.
