Hyperconvergence vendor SimpliVity appoints ANZ sales lead

SimpliVity said his appointment followed a strong first half to 2016

Hyperconverged infrastructure vendor SimpliVity has followed a “record first year” in Australia and New Zealand with the appointment of its first regional sales director: Patrick Devlin, former ANZ MD with Ruckus Wireless, has been appointed regional sales director Australia New Zealand (ANZ).

SimpliVity said his appointment followed a strong first half to 2016, which saw the company grow its year over year bookings 2.5 times. He will be based in the company’s Sydney office and report directly to Scott Morris, vice president APJ.

Morris said: “Patrick’s long history of working with the channel in ANZ, and with SimpliVity’s key alliance partners including Cisco and Dell, represents a significant strengthening of our capabilities in the ANZ market. … With a strong background in unified computing, virtualisation, software, storage, security and networking, Devlin will further add to SimpliVity’s team of technology experts.”

In March SimpliVity announced that it had tripled its presence in the region after just one year “with an expansion of the channel management, marketing and technical enablement teams,” (but as is usual with such statistics did not indicate the starting point for this tripling). It announced the appointment of Peter Hill as the ANZ channel manager and Antony Wright to provide channel technical enablement.

CEO, Doron Keppel, said: “Demand for SimpliVity’s hyperconverged infrastructure has surged in the last 12 months. Early on we invested in Australia and New Zealand, recognising that it’s a leading virtualised market, adopting new technologies rapidly, and this is reflected in the rapid growth we have seen for SimpliVity’s hyperconverged solutions.”

Hyperconverged infrastructure comprises compute, storage, networking, virtualisation resources and other technologies tightly integrated on standard x86 hardware and supplied by a single vendor.
