Tomizone partners with Consitel to WiFi enable Singapore stadiums

Pilot is indicative of the strong market interest from major venue owners and managers across Asia, Tomizone CEO says

Auckland based, ASX-listed wireless connectivity provider Tomizone (ASX: TOM) has formed a partnership with Singapore wireless technology company, Consistel.

Tomizone has not specified exactly what the partnership will entail, but says that, as a first initiative, the two companies will commence a major pilot at a large Singaporean integrated sports and lifestyle precinct which houses a 55,000 seat stadium, a 12,000 seat indoor stadium, a 6,000 seat aquatic centre, and a number of other sporting, retail and lifestyle facilities.

Tomizone said the pilot would “involve utilising Tomizone’s Lightswitch Connect product across over 700 WiFi access points spread over 35 hectares of multi-use space.”

Anne Dellos, VP of sales and marketing at Consistel said, “Tomizone’s ability to provide seamless connectivity, analytics and location-based services to all types of commercial and retail venues makes them an ideal partner for Consistel's location-based advertising services.

“Relevant user experiences drive engagement with on-site visitors, while the product’s analytics capabilities provide venue managers with an improved understanding of visitors’ behaviour and preferences.”

Tomizone CEO, Geoff Wanless, said: “The pilot is indicative of the strong market interest we have received from major venue owners and managers across Asia that see the value and return-on-investment from creating intelligent spaces.”

Tomizone describes its Lightswitch Connect as its “flagship product” saying: “Lightswitch Connect represents a connectivity, analytics and location based services solution with market leading functionality [enabling] venues to have complete control over the WiFi experience and access journey of visitors, with… fast connectivity utilising social login (Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and others); customisable branded splash screens and onboarding experiences; tools for promotion of initiatives and cross-marketing; native drag-and-drop splash screen editor and HTML 5 editing.”

Its development contributed to the decline in Tomizone reporting revenues in FY16 of $A2.7m down from $A3.5m in FY15, with Tomizone giving “fulfilment of the software feature sets to allow the company to focus on large enterprise customers which led to the launch of Tomizone Lightswitch,” as one of the “notable challenges” during the year.
