Vodafone has unveiled Vodafone TV – a device that connects to a TV I and to a Vodafone broadband service via Wi-Fi enabling customers to stream a range of video services on their TV, including SKY TV, free-to-air and Netflix.

Vodafone says the Vodafone TV also gives viewers the option to switch content seamlessly between their smartphone, tablet and television and, with some of the content, stop what they are watching on TV and pick it up on their smartphone where they left off.

The service is available only to customers on 12 or 24 month contracts on Vodafone Unlimited Fibre or FibreX plans.

Customers who sign up to a Vodafone TV package – which will bundle together unlimited broadband and SKY Basic – will be able to add on paid service like SKY Sport, SoHo and SKY Movies.

Vodafone says that, in addition to unlimited broadband and SKY Basic, Vodafone TV packages will include all free-to-air channels, easy access to TVNZ OnDemand, ThreeNow, YouTube, iHeartRadio and Love Nature 4K. The company says full plan and pricing details will be announced soon.

Vodafone says it expects to expand content channels and to add functionality that will “make the experience even more diverse and user-friendly for customers.”
