Microsoft patches new Office flaw
FRAMINGHAM (01/27/2004) - The war between videoconferencing equipment providers Tandberg ASA and Polycom Inc. heated up on Monday with the two competitors issuing dueling announcements regarding support for the Advanced Encryption Standard and H.264 video compression algorithm as well as a number of other product enhancements and additions.
FRAMINGHAM (11/14/2003) - VBrick Systems Inc. this week released a suite of products designed to deliver both live and on-demand MPEG video to desktops and set-top devices in a corporate network.

FRAMINGHAM (10/24/2003) - WebEx Communications Inc. this week rolled out a number of enhancements to its Web conferencing service, including the ability to launch a meeting from any Windows application.
FRAMINGHAM (10/16/2003) - Keynote Systems Inc. last week rolled out a streaming media performance management service that lets customers check the performance of any streaming offering, whether it's live or on-demand, from 14 points around the globe - nine in the U.S. and five abroad.
FRAMINGHAM (10/03/2003) - Polycom Inc. next week will introduce its first videoconferencing appliance that supports a new video compression standard, which is said to cut in half the bandwidth required to provide the same quality video as the previous standard.
FRAMINGHAM (09/23/2003) - There's a new player in the spectrum of IP-based conferencing. Arel Communications and Software this week launched its Integrated Conferencing Platform (ICP), a software-based server that combines voice, video and data conferencing into a Web interface.

RealNetworks Inc. Monday announced RealSystem iQ, a new line of products for delivering streaming media with an emphasis on content delivery networks.
Most companies would be content to trot out clips of Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now." But to show off the improved video quality of its RealSystem 8, RealNetworks would settle for nothing less than the director himself.
