  • SmartPay signs Mitre 10

Merchant services company SmartPay has signed a deal it describes as "worth in excess of several million dollars" with Mitre 10 to upgrade its point of sale payment systems.
SmartPay will roll-out of more than 700 lanes of SmartPay’s Syncro  Plus product, an integrated EFTPOS system, throughout the Mitre 10 and Hammer Hardware chains.
The contract comes on the back of a deal with Postie Plus.
SmartPay corporate sales manager Pat McCammon says the systems and services provided to Mitre 10 include retail radio, and in-store advertising.
“As a billion dollar retail business, we process a high number of transactions each week and the upgraded system from SmartPay will be an asset to our group," says Roger Nickerson, Mitre 10's point of sale manager.
Mitre 10 is planning a further 15 Mitre 10 Mega stores over the next two years.
Syncro Plus links the EFTPOS unit’s pin pad with the retailer’s point of sale system to provides management reporting of customer transactions and insights into purchase trends.
