The number of New Zealand internet users with datacaps of 50 gigabytes (GB) or more increased by almost 800 percent compared with a year ago, an annual Statistics NZ survey of internet service providers has found. More than 50 percent of customers now have a datacap of 20 GB or more per month.
The number of broadband subscribers in New Zealand has passed the million mark, according to figures released today from Statistics New Zealand’s latest Internet Service Provider survey.
Datacom has gained two five-figure contracts for work on the online interface for census information, as Statistics New Zealand ramps up to the next census in 2011.
Datacom will provide Statistics NZ’s new content management system.
